SNOC has become a significant player in the UAE’s energy market, and it plays a vital role in the growth and development of Sharjah’s industrial sector. Being a government-owned company, SNOC is the oil and gas industry executive arm of the Emirate and operates under the supervision of the Petroleum Department of Sharjah. SNOC, which was established in October 2010, takes charge of and administers the oil and gas resources in the Sharjah concession, and it is also the primary provider of gas in Sharjah.
A diversified energy portfolio is managed which includes natural gas, condensate and LPG. Besides the exploration activities together with international oil companies, a strategic underground gas storage project has been launched to provide a constant and dependable energy supply.
