Accountant Job Description

Job Description
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded.
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
- Prepare supplier payments.
- Conduct inter-company reconciliations.
- Update bank and cash transactions in the accounting records and prepare reconciliations.
- Assist in processing balance sheets and other financial statements in accordance with legal and company accounting guidelines.
- Review expenses and receivables records as assigned.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure accuracy and immediate availability when needed.
- Assist senior accountants in preparing and submitting weekly and monthly reports.
- Support senior accountants in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings.
- Contribute to other accounting projects as required.
- Manage petty cash.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT laws and financial regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
