What You’ll Do


The Director of Business Development & Licensing will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and licensing agreements to drive company growth. This role will work closely with various internal departments and external stakeholders to attract partners to our pipeline programs and manage licensing deals. This is a fully remote position, based anywhere in the US/Canada. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sponsorship to work in the US/Canada.

Key Responsibilities


  • Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and licensing deals that align with the company’s goals and objectives
  • Support the strategy in creating one-pagers and pitch decks to ensure proper messaging based on key learnings for engagement
  • Primarily responsible for booking meetings and leading portfolio overview calls for licensing partnerships with the goal of moving partners to a CDA and due diligence
  • Serve as the point of contact to ensure a smooth diligence process by meeting timelines, thoroughly answering questions, and providing all necessary dataroom materials
  • Relay insights from partnering conversations back to the team to adjust deal and portfolio strategy or materials accordingly
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform business development strategies and identify new growth areas
  • Represent Vial at conferences and in-person networking events

What You’ll Bring

 

  • 5+ years of experience in BioPharma/Biotech sales, preferably in enterprise sales
  • Consultative, customer-first sales approach
  • Proven track record in new business development and consistently exceeding sales targets
  • History of personal and professional excellence
  • Lifelong learner mindset with a commitment to professional growth and development
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is common
  • Experience in selling commercial-stage therapeutics or clinical-stage licensing is a plus
  • Strong experience with sales software such as CRM and sales engagement tools is also a plus
