Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Taxation seeks a Data Analyst to join the Business Quality Improvements team in the Office of Business Support Services. This role is responsible for evaluating business processes to identify opportunities to improve service quality, reduce operating expenses, and enhance operating efficiencies.

The Data Analyst will gather, compile, and analyzes statistical data, develop options for improving business outcomes, and prepare reports and workflow diagrams. The Data Analyst will also work closely with the operating areas and development teams to ensure that business improvements are implemented in accordance with requirements and participates in user acceptance testing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience running queries (PL/SQL) against large databases

• Experience writing queries (PL/SQL) against large databases

• Experience preparing excel spreadsheets to analyze large volumes of data

• Experience identifying, analyzing, mapping, and documenting business processes

• Experience preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to team members and management

• Experience participating in user acceptance testing of business process changes
