Civil Technical Engineer

RATLS Contracting

Civil Technical Engineer

Job Code: TECH-1806/25
Experience: 4–6 years (UAE-based)
Degree: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering

Alright, here’s the deal

RATLS Contracting is on the hunt for a Civil Technical Engineer who actually knows their stuff—none of this “fresh grad, zero clue” business. If you’ve been knee-deep in UAE projects for 4–6 years, read on.

What you’ll actually do:

– Drown in IFC drawings and project specs, then whip up technical docs that are actually useful.
– Crank out shop drawings for all kinds of civil works—blockwork, finishes, the whole nine yards. If you can’t detail an architectural joint, move along.
– Play nice with the structural and architectural folks—sort out design clashes before they turn into endless site headaches.
– Bash out PQDs, material submittals, and method statements that won’t get laughed out of a consultant’s inbox.
– Be the tech guru for the site teams. If they’re confused, you’re the answer key. Make sure everyone sticks to the design and doesn’t cut weird corners.
– Chase consultants, clients, and subs to stamp out technical issues before they spiral.
– March around the site, poke at things, do inspections, and keep QA/QC on point.
– Got ideas to save time or cash? Pitch them. Value engineering isn’t just a buzzword here.
– Don’t get us fined. Stay tight with Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DMCC, and the other alphabet soup authorities.

What we’re after:

– Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, not one of those dodgy online “universities.”
– 4–6 years actually working on UAE construction sites. (If you just watched from the office window, sorry.)
– You speak fluent AutoCAD, can handle MS Office without crying, and know your way around project management software.
– Know the UAE building codes and how to keep the paperwork gods happy.
– Got experience with steel structures and finishing? Sweet.
– Shop drawings, submittals, construction coordination—should be second nature.
– Good communicator, quick problem-solver, not allergic to teamwork.
– English fluency required. Arabic? Nice bonus, but not a dealbreaker.
– Can you start, like, yesterday? Even better.

Bonus points (but not a dealbreaker):

– You know your way around structural design.
– You’ve poked at ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, or something similar.
