An Architectural Draughtsman (also called an Architectural Draftsman or simply Drafter) is a skilled professional who works in the architectural and construction industry. The primary role of an architectural draughtsman is to create detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and plans for buildings and structures based on the designs provided by architects or engineers.

Salary and Career Prospects:

• The salary for an architectural draughtsman can range from minimal to high levels, all based on the location, experience, and type of employer. Nevertheless, the career is often regarded as stable and fairly well compensated, with chances for upward mobility into higher drafting or design positions.
  
• With experience, a draughtsman will move on to become either a Senior Draughtsman, Design Technician, or indeed an Architect or Project Manager if he or she gains further education.

• Capable of interpreting sketches and converting them into oral instructions translated into detailed drawings

Good communication and teamwork skills – capable of collaborating with many teams.
