Watts is a multi-discipline architecture and engineering (A/E) firm providing architecture, civil, environmental, transportation, structural engineering, and construction monitoring services with offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and New York City. As an interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and community builders, we work hand in hand with our clients to realize enduring designs – to create space for what matters.

Responsibilities And Duties

We have an immediate opening for an Architectural Designer in our Buffalo office. This position offers the potential for a variety of work experiences with an architecture and engineering consulting firm. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the project managers within the group and will be responsible for the following:

• Visit job sites to gather data needed to complete project designs
• Perform fieldwork, documentation, and research as requested by managers
• Prepare construction document packages with supervision
• Maintain dynamic communications with contractors, clients, and staff
• Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create full-scale and detailed designs of buildings and interiors
• Study building codes and regulations and determines how they will affect architectural designs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
• 3-7 years of professional experience
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
• Knowledge and experience with industrial, educational and healthcare sectors
• Strong graphic, written and oral communications skills
